See No Evil

Look away all ye children
as it happens to he.
What the mind may fear
the eyes needn’t see.
Look away all ye children
if the truth may confuse,
for father fall victim
to mother’s abuse.

Look away all ye preachers
from fine holy stock
as the Father takes fancy
to lamb from his flock.
Look away all ye preachers
as yon child does moan
and gather ye round
to protect one of your own.

Look away all ye soldiers
slaughter in some unholy war
and never should ye ask
“What the hell were we fighting for?”
Look away all ye soldiers,
they say thy fight be good.
As the skies rain with bullets
and rivers run with blood.

Look away now my friend,
as it happens to thee.
You turned from your brothers,
now they will not see.
